DSM Psychology is a Clinical Psychology practice with an interest in health conditions

Clinical psychologists have training in the assessment and diagnosis of major mental illnesses and psychological problems. Through their training, clinical psychologists are qualified to provide expert opinion in clinical areas. Clinical psychologists are trained in the delivery of a range of techniques and therapies with demonstrated effectiveness in treating mental health disorders. They hold particular skills for  applying psychological theory and scientific research to solve complex clinical psychology problems requiring individually tailored interventions.

Clinical Psychologist / Director

Dr Simon Morris has an interest in the treatment of complex and longstanding mental health disorders, particularly those related to health conditions. He has worked in the public and private mental health sectors, and now is the Director of DSM Psychology. With an interest in complex conditions, he has previously focused upon long-term treatments for people with eating disorders, trauma and personality disorders. He is now focused upon the complex relationship between physical and mental health conditions. He enjoys working a multidisciplinary environment, working closely with medical specialists including psychiatrists, endocrinologists and bariatric surgeons. Dr Morris has recently joined Geelong Haematology to provide focused in-house treatments to patients with cancer and blood disorders.

Simon is a full Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists (MCCLP).

Simon is a proud wheelchair user and understands the challenges of living a fulfilling life with a health condition. He is passionate about travel, photography, fitness and living an active lifestyle.
